FAQ
Specific to this service.
Do I need my own motorbike for the practical test?
No. A school bike is provided at the DLT office. You don’t bring your own.
I’ve never ridden before — is that a problem?
No. The practical is a slow-speed course on a small automatic scooter, and there’s an hour of practice on the same course before it. Most of the group has never held a licence of any kind.
What if I fail the practical?
You rejoin the queue and ride it again about twenty minutes later, the same day, as many times as you need. Nobody in these groups has left without a licence.
Is there a minimum age?
Eighteen for category A. There is no upper limit — the medical certificate is the only health check involved.
Can I add the car category later?
Yes, at the full 13,000 ฿. Doing both on the same Saturday costs 19,000 ฿ instead of 23,000 ฿, so it’s worth deciding before you register on Wednesday.
Does it cover big bikes?
Category A covers motorcycles of any engine size in Thailand, including a 650 or a 1000. There is no separate large-capacity category to sit.
Start
This week’s group registers on Wednesday.
